I am the son of David Edson Wagstaff, who was the son of John Alexander Wagstaff, who was the son of David Wagstaff, and  who was the son of Samuel Wagstaff, the immigrant ancestor.

I was reared on the farm homesteaded by my great grandfather, David Wagstaff in American Fork, Utah. I inherited the journal of Samuel Wagstaff, the photograph album of his wife Lucy Webb Wagstaff, the family Bible of David Wagstaff together with other artifacts of family interest.

My mother Ida Hayward Wagstaff is a certified genealogist with a lifetime of experience. My wife Ann (Edith Ann Taft) also has broad experience in the subject. Among her many accomplishments, she wrote a book on Kentucky census and did legal genealogy for an attorney in Oklahoma. She has identified many unlabeled photographs  of people in the family, many going back to the 1800's.

My goal is to learn everything possible about the Wagstaff family and to share that information. Please contact me with information you have or questions about the family.

  1. I seem to remember being told that there was a photograph in existence of the home where Isaac Wagstaff lived. If that can be located and you can send me a copy, I will attempt to locate where it was situated on the Harvey estate.

  2. My triple greast Uncle, Gen W W Averell, married Kezia Hayward Browning in 1885 in Bzath, NY. Kezia was the daughter of John Gammon Hayward. Ida Wagstaff researched the Hayward family. I would be interested on anything you may have from her records concerning Kezia Hayward, her first husband, British Army officer by the name of Browning, her only son Dr Claude Browning graduate of the Class of 1882 at Jefferson Medical College and died early in 1885. I could also share infomration on General Averell and the burial sites of Kezia and Claude and Kezia's home in Bath, NY.
